Project story

The decisions behind the work

Kevin Design needed a digital presence that could carry the depth of an established Dubai outdoor-living studio without reducing its work to a generic portfolio template. Emargy designed and built a custom Laravel website around its services, projects, content, and inquiry journey.

01

Project context

Kevin Design works across landscaping, pools, fit-out, interior design, execution, and maintenance. The website therefore had to present more than finished project photographs: it needed to explain the studio, organize several service areas, support an expanding portfolio and editorial content, and give premium prospects a clear path to enquire.

02

The constraint

Premium without becoming decorative

The website needed to feel appropriate for a high-end design studio while keeping services, projects, content, and contact paths easy to understand. Visual polish could not come at the expense of usability.

Different kinds of work needed one structure

Landscaping, pools, interiors, fit-out, execution, and maintenance are related but distinct service areas. The information architecture had to make them understandable without fragmenting the brand.

The portfolio had to remain useful as it grows

Projects are a central proof point for Kevin Design, so the website needed a presentation system that could support additional work and media rather than a fixed set of showcase pages.

Technical quality mattered behind the visuals

The finished experience also needed strong performance, accessibility, SEO foundations, responsive behavior, and maintainable content structures.

03

The decisions

Build around the studio

Decision

Design the page structure and interface specifically around Kevin Design’s services, project work, brand character, and content needs.

Why

A generic portfolio layout would show images, but it would not necessarily explain the full operating scope of the studio or create the hierarchy needed between services, projects, editorial content, and enquiries.

Use a custom Laravel foundation

Decision

Build the website on Laravel with Blade-based page structures and Vue-enhanced interactions.

Why

The project required control over the information architecture, presentation, content structures, and interactive behavior without making the framework itself the user-facing value proposition.

Treat the portfolio as content

Decision

Create a structured project and media presentation rather than treating finished-work imagery as static visual decoration.

Why

Kevin Design’s projects are part of how prospective clients understand its capabilities, so the portfolio needed to work as evidence within the broader website journey.

Build editorial growth into the architecture

Decision

Include content-ready journal structures alongside the main commercial pages.

Why

The website needed room for future project insights, service education, and search-focused content without requiring a structural rebuild.

Keep enquiry paths focused

Decision

Design a clear contact journey rather than allowing calls to action to compete with the portfolio experience.

Why

Visitors should be able to explore the studio’s work and then understand how to start a project without unnecessary friction.
